Sized at the Margins & Owning It: Panel Discussion & Industry Networking

Sized at the Margins

Moderator Lauren Downing Peters, PhD will lead a panel about sizing in the fashion industry.

About this Event

Fashion Group International of Chicago and Columbia College Fashion Studies are teaming up to offer an exciting panel & networking event for fashion industry professionals.

The discussion will expand on the typical sizing panel discussion by including industry professionals not just involved with plus-size, but also with petites, talls, and everything in between in order to facilitate a meaningful, forward-thinking dialogue about how the fashion industry can achieve true size parity through design.

We will focus both on technical know-how (including the challenges of designing/grading inclusive garments) in addition to the current state (i.e. marketing, culture, community) of size inclusivity in the industry. We will also touch on the personal stories behind each of the panelists' journeys that led them to work in their field.

Ticket holders are welcome to join us in our VIP room, which will have light bites & drinks, before & after the discussion.
